Glasgow and West Parks and Green Spaces Action Network - A First Statement

05 September 2006

Dear all, We are sending you this because we believe that you will be interested in the parks issue.

The attached document (if you need it in another file format let me know) is our first statement coming out of a small networking event held in Glasgow a few weeks ago. We are posting it to you to promote discussion on the parks subject, because we want feedback on the ideas contained within it and because we want to work towards a mutual aid and campaigning network across Glasgow and the West to improve and safeguard our parks.

We hope you'll take the time to read it and let us know what you think as we are looking to assemble this feedback to work towards a further meeting and increasing the number of individuals and groups participating. We also hope to hold a number of meetings around the document and the parks issue as we believe that now is a crucial time for our greenspaces and parks and we need to be in a stronger position to defend them, with as many people involved as possible.

To that end we've also set up a blog to gather in the feedback and if you have the time we'd love to read your comments. Equally you can send them via email to the address above. If you like what you see and want to get involved either individually or as part of a group we'd also be very happy to hear from you - drop us a line! Also if you know of anyone else who may be interested please forward on 'A First Statement' - the more people that get to hear about and start to talk about what's going on with our parks and the more connections that can be made to defend them the better!
